Yoga Today

Yoga today was nice. My calves had some cramping in them earlier today, so it was good to be able to stretch them out. The class was relaxing and enjoyable as always. There were a few new people there.

We all shared something positive and something negative that we had experienced lately. One lady talked about how one of her friends recently had a miscarriage. She seemed very sad and I hope that she and her friend will be alright.

I was told by my doctor that there is actually a pretty high percentage of women who have miscarriages, especially in their first tri-mester and that it usually isn't the mother's fault. The mother may have had the miscarriage because their body wasn't ready for the pregnancy or because the egg wasn't viable. I hope that her friend doesn't blame herself.

I told the class about how I am still amused by our baby boy kicking while I was hugging Steven, lol.

Yeah, miscarriages are common during the first trimester. It’s rather unfortunate, and heartrendingly sad. If you get Steven to rest his head against your belly, and sing a nursery rhyme to your baby from the commencement of your third trimester, and onwards, and then do it repeatedly post the birth, your son will recognise his father’s voice, and the tune specifically. It has to be the same song, however. We did that with our son, and he’d always smile with beaming acknowledgement in his eyes.

      Thank you.

Poor lady. I could see why someone could get depressed over that. After all, she may have been trying very hard to ensure that the pregnancy lasted. I hope that she isn’t to harsh on herself as well. After all, it probably isn’t her fault.
