These 3-D sonograms are neat, but not really needed for medical diagnosis. I would have liked it if it were a little more clear, but he’s still pretty young and only weighs about a pound right now. I was glad we got this sonogram done still because they also gave us a video and a recording of his heartbeat to go along with the pictures which people don’t always get at check ups.

It would appear to be human, that’s always a good sign.

He seems to have all of his fingers and toes.

        Another good sign, no extras?

Lol, yep, no extras. The genetic tests that we had done from his DNA that was taken from my blood stream and the diagnostic sonograms all say that he is very healthy too. So, mostly, I just need to continue to take care of my health by eating enough, taking my prenatal vitamins (to prevent anemia, low platelet count, and boost his neurological development), drinking plenty of water, and getting the recommended amount of exercise and sleep.

good deal indeed & a son to boot, your husband must be bursting with pride.

Yes, Steven is very happy. It didn’t matter to the both of us if it was a boy or a girl, but we wanted to know the gender anyway. Everyone tells us that boys are easier to raise for some reason. I’m not sure if that’s really true, but no big deal. We’ll be happy as long as he is a healthy kid.

boys generally cause fewer worries but, I wouldn’t call them easier… just a different set of pratfalls. Dads often do better with daughters but, there’s something primal about knowing your name will move forward a generation or two.

I’m glad that Steven is my husband and his dad. I’ve heard that it is very difficult to raise a child without a dad and that a lot of boys who don’t have a father around might not learn a lot of social skills specifically related to being a male like making eye contact and having a firm handshake and, I’m sure that there are a lot of things. I also believe that men and boys are discriminated against in the educational system and in certain ways in society. For example, boys are often misdiagnosed more often than girls are as having ADHD when really they don’t and are, mainly, very energetic.

That’s an excellent example & they get harsher diagnosis as well, when all they really need is a few hours a day of energetic play.
